Diaper Changing 101

My friend Katelyn has never changed a diaper before, was I willing to help her out? Of course! She was so lucky that he didn't have any stinky surprise for her. She did good for her first diaper, I think a little more practice and she'll be a pro! Kohen loves his friend Katelyn, he always appreciates anyone who is willing to change his diapers.

Jump Up "Johnny"

Jeremiah and I were working on my salon, and Kohen really didn't want to be in his swing. He thinks he is a big boy and is supposed to stand up. He is a little to small for his "Johnny Jump Up" all that sticks out are his cheeks, nose, and eyes, but he really seems to like it. It was adorable he wasn't jumping just sort of swinging there every now and then moving his feet. He hasn't really been wanting a pacifier lately (which I am thankful for), he has liked to taste everything else around him instead. Including his "Johnny" which had slobber all over it when we got him out.

Surprise!

It was so much fun to visit Mark and Danna this past weekend. We (Connie, Aaron, Kim, Jer and I) went to Richfeild for Marks 40th birthday!!
We decided to surprise him, so we snuck in while he was taking a shower at 10:30 Saturday morning... The look on his face was so priceless. (I'm so glad he got dressed before he came out!!) Anyway it was a blast to go look at MJ and Emmies school, and to see my beautiful Nieces Steph is such a knock out! Angela is growing up so fast, Mark and Danna look out she is gonna have boys knocking down your door. (In all honesty though I think Steph and Ang can hold there own, after seeing them have a pillow/ sock em' bopper fight with their uncles.) Well Saturday we went and saw the Barkley's new lot which was surrounded by beautiful homes..there aren't many ugly homes in Rihfeild. We also saw (like i said) the Kids school. We had a lazy afternoon filled with Poker and snacks. Jer and I stayed the night but everyone else headed back home. In the morning we just laid around talking about the hunting trip we are planning on having next summer....Which Barkley's, Hogan's, and Widings are all welcome to join (DANA)!!

I had such a great time seeing Danna and the kids. Mark had a great birthday and he's lookin' pretty dang good in his old age (but he is a Barkley boy and i do tend to be alittle bias). I miss the family being able to get together on a whim!

Oh what fun it is to ride!

He usually sleeps whenever he gets in his car seat, but for some reason on the way back from Mark and Danna's he was wide awake and Mr.Giggles! It was sooooo CUTE!
Everything I said to him was the funnier than the last. He also stayed awake (almost) the whole 4 hr trip home!!

Jer and I usually fight over who gets to sit in the back seat with him because it is so much fun to snuggle with him and hold his hands and kiss him!

A little Fall flourish

I love Fall. I like feeling the refreshing air. And there's something about shuffling my feet through a big pile of leaves that brings a smile everytime. The vibrant colors of fall leaves seem to be nature's last surge of energy before winter sets in and the world sleeps for a few months. Every year as I leave the pumpkin patch with my prize, already looking forward to next years trip to the pumpkin patch. Finding a pumpkin on halloween takes a fair amount of dedication.
It takes braving a cold morning. It means running through the patch as fast as you can before another kid (or adult) gets the good one. It takes a true pumpkin hunter and honey you met the master.

My Kohen Bug!

Being a mother is the greatest calling, and gift the lord has ever given me. I love this little man more than i thought imaginable. I am so greatful! Dana Widing said she is having trouble sleeping, I know how she feels. I also instead of doing anything productive lay awake trying not to think of anything... but my mind will not shut off. The last two nights instead of being angry, I just roll over and look at my sweet baby sleeping in his crib next to the bed. I look at him, smile, cry (what can i say, hormones), and before I know it i am waking up at 5 AM to Jer's alarm. Usually it is your children that wake you up, but instead mine puts me to sleep. What a wonderful little man I have!

Look at that sweet face! Does'nt he look so kissable. Looks so much like his Daddy!

He's well fed! LOL

Jer made him a turban, it was hot out so he obviously needed it!

Little Dipper

Kohen's first swim! My friend Nicole has a pool in her back yard and she invited Kohen and I over for a swim, well I dont quite feel like my body is ready for a swim suit, so we just dipped our feet in. He loved the cool water on his feet, it was so cute. When I put him in the water he would kick his little feet smile.

When I was born in southern California, my parents had a pool. My parents say I loved to be in the water, they called me the water baby. I hope my kids love to swim as much as I do. I am planning on putting Kohen in swim lessons at a year old. There is a class in Woodburn that the parents get in the water and actually help coach the kids.

Jer's Trophy

Jer had a Tae Kwon Do tournament on the Sept 15th. He felt like he was really out of shape, but he decided to compete anyway. I am so glad he did because he did so well. He placed 2nd in both sparring and breaking. In his match for first and second Jer was ahead by 2 points then lost control and kicked the man he was sparring and got disqualified putting him in second place. The other guy won by default. In the midst of sparring he hurt his toe, by the time he got home it was black and blue. Poor guy got a trophy he didn't know he was gonna get. But chicks dig it!

Jer has been doing Tae Kwon Do for 11 yrs. Wow!! I cant wait for our kids to be old enough to join.

Dogs and Peanuts

It appears that this family was given the unfortunate burden of having allergies! While we were in Idaho visiting my parents, Kohen broke out in Hives. After trying to eliminate all possible things it could be and a rather scary visit to the ER we determined it was one of two things, Dog hair, or Peanuts (which I had earlier in the week). Kohen was such a stud, never cried or even got fussy. When I get Hives I get grumpy and paranoid. The doctor at the hospital was SO helpful in narrowing down what it could be. It is hard to see things like that happen to your baby! We are going to have to watch him around dogs and peanuts.

Beach Trip

For My birthday Jer and Kohen took me to the beach! Kohen didn't really like the sun too much so we bought him some sweet shades! It was not really that warm and kind of windy, so Kohen didn't get to play in the sand.

Daddy and Kohen Soaking up the sun in Lincoln City! I think Kohen is going to be a Daddy's Boy, Whenever Jer gets home from work he and Kohen spend Hours "talking". I never thought I would love being the second one who gets a kiss when Jer gets home. Kohen laughed for the first time a few weeks ago and Jer makes him giggle constantly!

A first Glance

My sister in law, Danna told me about this great site and I am excited to get started. I am not a fan of Myspace, but this is great that only those who I want to see it can. With everyone in the family moving and so many things changing it is going to be wonderful to see pictures and hear up dates. I miss Mj, Emmy, Ang, and Steph more than words can say! It is hard to imagine them being so far away. It is also hard that my parents and brother have just moved to (Fairfeild) Idaho, 10 hrs away seems like forever!

With Jeffrey in his sophomore year, I feel like there are so many things we are going to miss. I love that little man! (well he's not so little anymore.)

I often wonder if in the celestial kingdom if we will live all close together, kind of like Danna's castle idea. Will we be hours from one another? Or possibly traveling isn't a matter of time you just close your eyes an POOF your there!

Anyway I miss you all and am looking forward to sending more pictures and getting weekly up-dates! Hugs and Kisses
