Pools, Gardens, and big boys!

WE have a POOL!! I grew up right next to my cousins who had a pool, a lot of our summer was spent in the pool with them. I really want my kids to have access to a pool growing up and to learn how to swim at a young age like I did...(plus I really wanted a pool to float in this summer while I'm pregnant) And for those of you who are worried about having young children around pools the lip of the pool is right at 4 1/2 Ft so I'm not to worried about Kohen getting in also I dont think an adult could hop in with out the ladder. So anytime you are hot this summer gimme a call I would love to share our pool with friends!!

I was clearing the table after dinner and Kohen decided to help...He reached up grabbed the spoon that was in the baked beans and flung them EVERYWHERE and then licked the spoon clean.
Done with Pacifiers!! The other day Jer and I were talking about a good age to try to get rid of them, a few days later Kohen took it out and handed it to me, so I decided unless he is super fussy and nothing else will do we are going to slowly let them all disappear into the drawer.

My Garden is tilled and ready to be seeded!! It started out about half the size that it is now, but then Jer said "but we need room for ALL the corn your gonna plant" so I guess I'm planting LOTS of corn, I definitely have room :) I'm so excited to start planting!

This picture was taken randomly, but I thought it was cute and had to share:) I finally got a good video of Kohen doing his Dance but I need Jer's help with how to put it on the blog cause it pulled up an error screen when I tried a few minutes ago..Anyway in all we had a VERY busy weekend and got a lot done! How about you??

Date night ideas

I wanted to plan a special date night that wasnt just the typical "dinner and a movie" for Jer and I, so i looked up some ideas online and I found a list of 100 date night ideas! I thought I wasnt the only one who would enjoy them so here goes:

Dinner and a Movie
1. Go out for pizza -- ask them to cut the pie into the shape of a heart.
2. Try live entertainment, such as a band at a local bar, instead of a movie.
3. Pick a TV show, get a season's worth on DVD and make a running date to watch it together every night.
4. Head out to a midnight cult movie, like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Showgirls or Donnie Darko.
5. How about dinner and some stargazing at the planetarium's evening show?
6. Try brunch and a matinee; fancy restaurants are way more affordable in the a.m.
7. Pick up a bucket of fried chicken and head for the drive-in.
Seductive Secrets
8. Put on your sexiest stilettos; sip fancy cocktails at a hotel bar.
9. Bubble bath for two. Candles. Champagne. Need we say more?
10. Oysters are said to be an aphrodisiac, so head to a seafood place and slurp them right out of the shell.
11. Take a dinner cruise: The motion of the ocean sets off sensuous signals inside us (think water beds).
12. Gooey, delicious: Get a fondue pot and have a feast. Add a French movie and French-kiss all night.
13. The sultriest music? Jazz. Try a trip to a jazz club or a night at home with a CD by Cassandra Wilson.
14. Make a finger-foods-only dinner and feed each other.
15. Cleavage is nice: Bump it up a notch with a push-up bra, a scoop-neck top and a sparkly necklace.
At-Home Dates
16. Take turns singing cheesy out-of-tune ballads at karaoke.oddcast.com or free karaoke.com.
17. Have your own version of trick-or-treating: Put on a sexy outfit and knock on the den door. Don't forget the treats!
18. Enjoy a rousing game of Twister.
19. Dress up your backyard picnic table with a white tablecloth. Add candles, fancy cheese, chocolate and voilĂ : five-star fun.

23. Invest in an ice-cream maker or a bread maker; then invent your own homemade treats.

First Birthday Ideas??

Ok being a new mom I realise there are a lot of things I need to learn (managing my time better, being more organized...you get the idea) anyway I want to plan a fun first birthday for Kohen. I realise being one he will not remember or really enjoy the festivities as much as his mommy...but I want to do something fun as we will have a lot of kids of all ages there. Do any of you super-mom's or grandma's or mommies-to-be have any advice or ideas?

Dancing, Playing and sleeping all night!

Arent they SO cute!
I look so much like my MAMA!

We had a great weekend! We went shopping for clothes...BTW you know how the 70's style is coming back I DON'T LIKE IT, the big maternity Moomoo's are NOT my thing, but that's all they sell for maternity right now. I feel like I'm wearing a TENT! I need to get pictures on the blog of my baby belly cause it has grown over night!
Anyway, so Kohen had a fun weekend playing hard with mommy and daddy...Friday, Saturday and Sunday he slept ALL night! and went to bed at 9:30! It was great! Saturday was funny cause I was on the phone with my mom, and Kohen loves talking to grandma on the phone and she had to go before she really got a chance to talk...well after we got off the phone he cried!! I love that he loves his grandma, cause I love her too!!
I am getting really anxious for the weather to get better cause I'm really excited to plant my garden and get our yard looking beautiful! I want to have a BBQ for Kohen's first birthday and so I want the yard to look great! I'm also excited to play outside with Kohen this summer! Just a random side note, we are thinking about getting a above ground pool (which would be WONDERFUL while being pregnant) , but we both have our reservations having young kids with a pool in the back yard...What do you all think??

Isn't just so true that you cant get your kids to "perform" when you want them to! Kohen loves to dance when music is on, and he actually has rhythm!! We got a little clip of him dancing, but he fell mid-move so most of his dancing is on the floor :) Unfortunately this is not him doing his full dance "routine"!! Sorry there's no sound I don't know why it didn't pick up the song.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!

Today I got my ultra sound and found out two things my due date was off by a few weeks, my new due date is September 12th instead of the 23rd and....We are having another BOY!! We are absolutely thrilled and cannot wait to bring this baby into our family! The ultra sound was great, the lady who did it explained everything as she did it which was wonderful because I do not understand much except basically a head, the spine, I did see the hand, the "gender" telling parts and blurry things :) and I know ultra sounds have improved 10,000% over the past few years but still I cant see much.

When calling family to tell them my brother in law Mark said that we almost have a basketball team...Well Mark and Danna already have stock Tampax so I guess we will go for Nike or Puma :) I am SOO excited to be a mommy to 2 crazy Barkley boys. A friend asked me if I was disappointed I wasn't having a girl...Disappointed? How could I be? The Lord is blessing me with another healthy baby what more could I ask for!? So to answer the question: I am not disappointed in the least! It would be nice to have a girl to even out the vote around here, but like my Aunt Dayna said I will be the Queen of the house :)

Also like last time we are BLANK for boy names..Any suggestions friends??

Idaho Vacation

I love that Kohen was so excited to go see grandma and grandpa that he crawled in the luggage!
I love that right when we got off the plane Kohen was giving EVERYONE kisses!! Grandma loved it too!

I love the handsome man Jeff has grown into and I'm so glad he had fun at prom!

I love that Jeff cant smile for a picture so he always has a fake smile this one is an instant classic!

I love my mom and what a wonderful grandma she is to Kohen..I miss her!!

I love that grandparents give babies all sorts of naughty things...here grandma is sharing her ice cream cone!!

I love that Kohen helped me organize grandma and grandpa's cupboards!

I love Kohens ability to sneak up on grandma's kitty's...they sure don't appreciate him "playing" with them, I don't know why??

I love that I forgot my hair spray and had to borrow my moms...Her's has MUCH more hold than mine lol so I ended up looking like BOZO.

I love the view in my parents back yard the mountains are breath taking.

I love that I was able to entertain Kohen in the car during Jeff's track meet because it was TOO cold and windy. He got to practice "driving"!

I love my "little" brothers natural ability to do well in everything he pursues. I love to watch him excel in Track!!

I loved watching the sunset each night and Jer loved stepping out on the back porch and listening to the complete silence that surrounds my parents in their little remote town.

I love that Kohen loves his "papa" and would call him by name. I love my dad and miss him SOOO much!

I loved going to Cabela's and watching Kohen's reaction to the "stuffed" animals and live fish!
